  • Penectomy and vulvoplasty: Removal of the penile erectile bodies and creation of a feminine-shaped external genitalia

  • Vaginoplasty: Construction of a functional vagina using a modified type of penile inversion technique. This technique utilizes penile skin for the clitoral hood and minor labia, and scrotal skin for the major labia and vaginal lining.

Preoperative Considerations

For vaginoplasty performed using our modified penile inversion technique, permanent hair removal is required prior to surgery. At least four sessions of laser hair removal, spaced three weeks apart, are typically recommended. Patients will be counseled three weeks after the last laser hair removal session to ensure satisfactory hair removal before proceeding with surgery.

For all genital gender assignment surgery procedures, we require two letters of support from mental health clinicians who are knowledgeable about gender identity. A letter from an institution like a university clinic would be sufficient if signed by more than one expert. Turkish citizens are also required to provide a court decision.
